About The Artist: William Rotsaert, the 2009 Santa Fe Wine Festival poster artist, was born in Bruges,Belguim, a Flemish City of ancient beauty, where
Roman, Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance art andarchitecture converge. He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Bruges, specializing in old
school disciplines such as drawing, oil painting, architectural drawing and graphic art.
William traveled extensively in Europe, and his travels in Spain inspired him to visit the American Southwest, where he was captivated by its land,
natural beauty and people. He and his wife decided to move to the Southwest, first to Arizona and then to Santa Fe, where they still live.
The award-winning commercial work of William Rotsaert can be seen in posters, brochures, magazines, covers and billboards. His superb
fine art, representing southwestern themes and landscapes, has been shown in New Mexico and Arizona galleries and in a major exhibition in
Bruges with his artist father Germain Rotsaert.
William retains his enthusiasm for the American Southwest, and travels frequently through Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico to find
inspiration for his art.
